The Waterfront is a contemporary hotel located in the heart of Kuching's Historic and Business District, steps to Kuching's fabulous and picturesque waterfront esplanade and set amongst the many pre-20th century shophouses.
Entrance to the property is through the historic Old Courthouse complex built in 1874. The hotel features a combination of old world charm, yet offering guests a contemporary finish and a unique luxury experience.

The signature theme of the hotel is ART. Starting with the lower lobby through to the upper lobby and beyond to all the various room floors, many pieces of exceptional art by local artists will be integrated into the design of the hotel. Additionally the art will not be static as noted artists will from time to time display their creations in the hotel.
The Hotel purchases select pieces from the artists for the hotel's private collection which are displayed in the premises. The hotel also works with the selected artists, and promotes them by naming suites after them and featuring them and their works onour website. The suites would feature their art and a biography of the artist for the guests' information.Art is not only restricted to paintings but would include handicrafts, antiquities as well as musical artists. There is an atmosphere of constant evolution within the hotel and this gives guests a new experience every time they visit. Among the significant artists that have are partnered with the hotel are Ramsey Ong, Narong Daun, Chew Fang Chin, NisaAddina (violinist) and other junior budding professionals.
The hotel also features a sizeable ballroom and sixmid-sized meeting rooms. The sales team can tailor custom packages for business and groups. There is also in the works a sky bar on the roof top. The views from there are nothing short of breathtaking.
The hotel is finished to a five star standard but will be value priced similar to a 5 star hotel.
Situated below the hotel isthe well-established fully integrated Plaza Merdeka shopping center. It is accessible from both the lower lobby and the upper lobby via a dedicated escalator. Hotel guests using the sky bridge which goes right across the 4 storey atrium will be able to see the shopping center in its entirety.
